Senior Technician, Field Services

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Windows Server infrastructure. They will ensure the availability, security, and integrity of server resources, troubleshoot system issues, and provide technical support. Collaboration with other IT teams and stakeholders to implement new technologies and solutions will be essential. The role demands a proactive approach to monitoring and maintaining server performance, applying patches and updates, and adhering to best practices for system security and backup procedures.

 

Roles & Responsibility

  • Installation and configuration of Windows Server operating systems.
  • Maintenance and optimization of server infrastructure for performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of server-related issues.
  • Implementation of security measures and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Collaboration with IT teams for system integration and technology upgrades.
  • Proactive monitoring and management of server resources.
  • Documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • System Availability & Uptime maintenance
  • Work as an owner of system architecture period schedule maintenance
  • Proficient in Business Continuity Infrastructure
  • Provide second level support to the onsite team involve in providing First level support
  • Handle calls escalated by Level 1 support and make sure to involve next level support (if required) to minimize the impact.
  • Ensure all contractual SLAs targets are met.
  • Perform analysis of the incident/change/problem trend and preparing Daily/weekly performance reports and submit it to customer.
  • The candidate must ensure all deliverables are delivered on predefined frequency to customer.
  • Organize regular training sessions for Customer’s level 1 support staff and provide training to them in predefined frequency.
  • Regular meeting with Customer and ensure that all the feedbacks are recorded, and corrective/preventive measure are kept in place (if required)
  • Keeping track of necessary documentation and records and make sure that they are updated on scheduled frequency.
  • Candidate will be SPOC for any scheduled/emergency maintenance activity scheduled by customer which may impact our systems.
  • Keeping track of the new released patches/hot fixes of relevant application OEMs and implementing at site by following proper change management procedure.
  • Coordination with network, ISP and other vendors in case of failure due to unavailability of their services impacting system performance.
  • Monitoring the overall performance of systems and highlight if there is/are indicators impacting system performance.
  • Ensure that all systems including servers and client workstations are updated with latest antivirus
  • Perform failover activities for all systems to ensure that systems are redundant.
  • Perform Windows/Linux patch updates on regular frequency as agreed by customer.
  • Perform application/database restoration activity on regular frequency as agreed by customer.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-4 yrs. in IT support
  • 3 year Diploma in Engineering or 4 year Full time B. Tech or Bachelor in Computer Application or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting various hardware and peripheral components in an on-site environment.
  • Minimum 3-year experience of working directly in a customer facing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Strong work ethic, result oriented as well as excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Candidates having MCSE & CCNA certification will be preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Database and cloud application
